In 1955 the Brooklyn Dodgers not only won the National League pennant, but 'Dem Bums finally went on to beat their crosstown pinstriped rivals from the Bronx in the World Series. It was one of the more memorable seasons and Fall Classics in baseball history, with the "Boys of Summer" winning an epic seven-game series and capturing the hearts of baseball lovers everywhere.
Presented here is ome of the few full tickets that has survived from Game 3 at Ebbets Field. Dodgers Hall of Fame catcher Roy Campanella played hero at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a 2-run blast, a double and 3 RBI. Jackie Robinson had two knocks and scored twice and starting pitcher Johnny Podres went the distance, scattering seven hits in an 8-3 complete-game victory. The only highlight for the Bombers was Micky Mantle's first inning solo homer (his only HR of the series and his fifth career W.S. dinger).
The colorful Lower Stand Box Seat ticket with the iconic Dodgers logo in blue conjures up memories of those epic battles between a slew of legendary Hall of Famers on the hallowed grounds of Ebbets Field and Yankee Stadium. The well-worn ticket wth toning from age has been encapsulated as AUTHENTIC by PSA. Only five others have been slabbed by PSA, with only three graded higher than this example.
