Born in Hungary, Kubala also had Czechoslovakian and Spanish citizenship, and played for four national teams (including Catalonia) in a lengthy international career spanning 17 years. At the club level, he arrived at Barcelona in 1951 and became the star of a golden era that produced nine major titles (4 la Liga and 5 Copa del Rey) in a decade. During that stretch the clinical striker, renowned for his quick dribbling, powerful foot, and free kick accuracy, scored 280 goals in 345 matches. For Barça's 1999 centennial celebration, a fan's poll declared Kubala the best player in club history. After retiring as a player, he managed Barcelona and the Spanish National Team.

This László Kubala match-worn jersey from the 1955-57 period dates to the heart of his legendary run with FC Barcelona. Constructed in long-sleeve cotton in the club's classic Blaugrana vertical stripe design, heavy wear and a half century of aging have now faded the original blue and garnet colors to a washed blue and dusty rose tone – a transformation that speaks powerfully to the garment's genuine authenticity. An early "C. de F.B." crest predating the modern FCB design is embroidered on the left chest. The reverse displays a large "9" (Kubala's Barça number in the mid-1950s) in a white leather material. No manufacturer tagging is present. The cotton fabric exhibits a combination of extensive sweat staining and field soiling throughout the body and sleeves from repeated match use. A Barcelona gamer from such an early post-World War II period rarely surfaces in hobby, and this Kubala exemplar certainly belongs within the Camp Nou museum archives. Includes letter of authenticity from MEARS.

The Football Scout Collection
This jersey comes from one of the most impressive vintage football collections known to exist. Once a star amateur player, the collector worked as a scout for multiple clubs and national teams, prospecting young football talent across the globe. Through his experience and unique connections, he procured almost every item directly from players or kitmen.
