On April 23 1954 Hank Aaron knocked out the first home run of his Major League Baseball career. Twenty years later Aaron became baseballs new home run king when he broke Babe Ruths long-standing record of 714 career homers. The offered bat dates to the very beginning of Aarons journey toward immortality. The rare and historic rookie era bat formerly belonged to a gentleman who personally owned it for half a century. He obtained the bat during a visit to the Phillies' Connie Mack Stadium in the mid-1950's after the young Milwaukee Braves slugger abandoned it after a handle crack ended its apparently lengthy term of service. The gentlemans sister had been an employee at the ballpark at the time and retrieved the bat as a gift for her brother. The 35 inch 33 ounce block-lettered Adirondack model 63A exhibits outstanding use with a multitude of ball marks coating the left right and back barrel. Cleat marks join blue and red bat rack streaks on the battered surface and light coat of pine tar is visible on the professionally repaired handle. A bold blue sharpie signature on the barrel was added by Aaron in 1995 and a photograph from that signing is included. Every physical attribute of this phenomenal Aaron artifact is simply ideal compounded by its most desirable vintage.

All factors contribute to a perfect GU10 rating from John Taube of PSA/DNA.
