A remarkable piece of World Series history: the official 1951 World Series program for the Subway Series between the New York Giants and New York Yankees, signed on the cover by Willie Mays along with a second Giants teammate signature in blue ink. This Fall Classic is legendary in its own right, remembered for Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round the World" that propelled the Giants past the Dodgers in the pennant race just prior, before New York's cross-town rivals met in the Series itself. Mays, then a 20-year-old rookie in the midst of his historic 1951 NL Rookie of the Year campaign, adds tremendous significance to this program as an original, period-obtained autograph rather than a modern signing.
