This lot offers a near complete set of the famous 1951 Bowman Baseball release. This set would be Bowman's largest release from 1948-1955, featuring an impressive 324 cards total. Each card measures 2-1/16" by 3-1/8" and features simple card fronts of recognizable press photographs enhanced by painted color for eye-catching appeal. The set features some impressively notable Hall of Famers including Yogi Berra, Roy Campanella, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Warren Spahn, and Ted Williams to name a few.
The offered set remains in VG to EX condition with a few notable standouts. Three graded examples are also included in the (322/324) near set. The grades are as follows -
- #26 Phil Rizzuto - BCCG 6
- #165 Ted Williams - BVG G-VG 2.5
- #250 Hank Borowy - SGC VG-EX 4
The two missing cards from this set (#253 Mickey Mantle and #305 Willie Mays) are available for bidding in Lots #33 and #34, respectively.
