In 1945 Joshua Josh Grider accepted a scholarship to attend Tennessee A&I and played as a Tiger during an undefeated 24-0 season his senior year. He then received an offer to play with the Harlem Globetrotters and joined former TSU teammates Clarence Wilson and Boyd Buie the one-armed sensation. In his first and second seasons with the Globetrotters Grider went to Europe and played before tremendous crowds one time playing in the Olympia Stadium in Berlin with 75000 fans in attendance. This lot includes Griders Harlem Globetrotters satin warm-up suit from the early 50s. The red-white-blue-and-gold satin combination manufactured by Wilson shows ample wear. The pants which measure 34 around the waist with a 31 inseam have the following information stitched in white into the waistline: Grider - 34 - 31 - R No. 38. The jacket size 44 reg plus 2 includes the official Harlem Globetrotters embroidered yellow-red-and-white logo patch on the left chest with an open hood connected to the collar sporting 13 red-and-white stripes and five gold stars. An authentic assemblage of sports memorabilia from one of the greatest basketball teams ever assembled.
