This lot features a rare Vern Mikkelsen game-worn signed and inscribed 1949 College All-American full warm-up suitincluding jacket and pants. Ironically he wore it as a member of the 1949 College All-Stars in an exhibition game against his future NBA team.
The satin warm-up suit is largely white with red and blue trim. Thezippered jacket is lined with cotton and includes Wilson manufacturer’stagging on the inside rear collar with a sewn-on cloth tag with blackstitching (“S – 36”) and a flag tag reading [size] “46.” The front leftchest area is sporting an embroidered red white and blue AAU stylepatch that reads “ALL AMERICAN 1949.” Mikkelsen autographed the front ofthe jacket just beneath the embroidered patch and then added alengthy description near the bottom of the jacket: “VERN MIKKELSENCollege All-Stars vs. MPLS.
