The 1949 Philadelphia Eagles coached by Greasy Neale posted a record of 11-1 and won their second straight NFL championship. This lot features a 1948 Philadelphia Eagles World Champions-emblazoned white football signed by 35 members of the 1949 team. The most notable signatures on the football are from five Hall of Famers: Coach Neale linebacker Chuck Bednarik (rookie season) end Pete Pihos halfback Steve Van Buren and linebacker/center Alex Wojciechowicz. Then ball was originally procured by guard Mario Giannelli (nicknamed "Yo-Yo") who played for the Eagles from 1948-51. He has also signed the ball along with quarterback Tommy Thompson halfback Bosh Pritchard fullback Jim Parmer end Jack Ferrante OL/DL Bucko Kilroy HB/DB Clyde Scott HB/DB Frank Zeigler etc. Though the signatures have certainly faded over time many are still legible including the aforementioned names. The ball does not fully inflate but remains in EX overall shape with no noticeable punctures.

Includes LOA from the son of Mario Giannelli. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
