University of Kentucky basketball stars and their head coach competed for the United States in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, where they won gold.
Known as the "Fabulous Five" at Kentucky, Cliff Barker, Ralph Beard, Alex Groza, Wah Wah Jones and Kenny Rollins were selected as Olympians and Adolph Rupp served as the team’s assistant coach, only months after the same group won Kentucky’s first ever NCAA basketball championship.
Presented here is a commemorative booklet that celebrates the 1948 squad, nicely inked on the cover by the "Fabulous Five" and also Joe Holland. Beard and Holland also signed their player pages inside. PSA/DNA provides the LOA.
