Whether wearing an expensive bespoke ballgown or simple dance rehearsal attire, Marilyn Monroe stood out from the crowd. Wearing the latter outfit, this photograph is part of a series taken during a 1948 session in which Monroe showed off stylized yoga/dance poses. Even at this early period of her career, Monroe exudes the sex appeal that would soon make her an international sex symbol. This United Press International Type II print was made at some time during the 1950s. The photo measures 8" x 10" and has been printed to its edges. There is some edge wear present as well as surface scuffs and ".D.M. MONROE.24" has been added to the lower left corner. The back is free of any markings. The photo has been encapsulated and graded a Type II by PSA.
