Color barrier and social justice pioneer Jackie Robinson was skilled at many things on the baseball field, but one extra special trait was his knack for stealing home. Somehow Jackie seemed to make this daring, risky play look relatively easy! Jackie Robinson made 31 attempts at stealing home, and succeeded 19 times, the most of any player in the Live-Ball Era. And any time Jackie was on third base, just the threat of him stealing home had opposing pitchers on edge. Our hero made his Brooklyn Dodgers debut in 1947 and quickly gained popularity. Jackie had a show on New York radio station WMCA and in 1948 a youngster asked #42 for tips on how to steal home.

Presented here is Mr. Robinson's thoughtful typed reply on special Jackie Robinson Show letterhead dated December 3, 1948, complete with a perfect blue ballpoint signature in his classic penmanship. The paper shows its age, with significant wear to both lower corner areas. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA (auto should grade 9 or 10). Also comes with full LOA from JSA.
