No golfer in the sport's history had a more perfect swing and follow-through than Ben Hogan. His sweet motion was captured in the iconic “One Iron” photo, the most well-known golfing image ever. This 1948 Type 1 photo shows a different and more revealing view of Hogan’s flawless follow-through. Taken during the 22nd Annual Los Angeles $10,000 Open at the Riviera Country Club, the golf legend is depicted driving from the clubhouse tee in the tournament’s second round. The spectators and tournament sign makes for a visually appealing background to Hogan’s immaculate swing. The photo displays great toning from age, with printing crop marks visible on the borders. The reverse has the Acmenewspictures and United Press stamps, original 1/3/1948 dated caption slug, and various pencil notations. The photograph measures 7” x 9” and has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
