An extraordinarily significant piece of baseball and civil rights history, this 1947 Bond Bread Jackie Robinson portrait card was issued during Robinson's historic rookie season breaking Major League Baseball's color barrier, making it among the earliest commercially produced Robinson collectibles ever created. Graded SGC FR 1.5, the sepia-toned portrait shows Robinson in his Brooklyn Dodgers cap and glove, with a facsimile signature printed across the image.

 

The reverse details his remarkable multi-sport background at UCLA, including a broad jump record and a 28-point basketball outing, alongside his standout 1946 International League season batting .349, and closes with a charming period advertisement: "Jackie says: I get a double play in Homogenized Bond." Despite expected wear consistent with this fragile bread-premium issue's scarcity and the honest grade reflecting genuine handling, this remains a foundational, historically vital piece documenting Robinson's rookie season.
