This is a remarkable bit of baseball history represented in a perfect condition bank document from 1946 whereby one George Herman Ruth borrowed $10000 from the New York Yankees for four months at 3 percent interest. With that kind of scenario the resulting boffo signatures from Ruth and fellow Hall of Famer Ed Barrow providing a uniqueness to this item rarely matched. Given the legal nature of the 81/2-by-14-inch two-sided document the Ruth signature is the formal - and highly coveted -"George Herman Ruth" in the same elegant hand that lovingly produced so many tens of thousands of "Babe Ruth" autographs. The document is in nearly as-issued condition with several official stamps from bank staffers and even some penciled notes about terms. Simply a remarkable bit of Yankees memorabilia in a document squirreled away in the archives of The Rye National Bank.
