Great collection of 4 Connie Mack hand-written letters each sent to Harry Chozen who at the time was manager of the Newport News Builders the Philadelphia Athletics' Class D affiliate in the short-lived Virginia League. The content of each letter varies from talk of straight business - moving players up and down within the organization - to "keep your head up" motivational prose that must have been powerful to Chozen coming from a baseball legend like Mack. All are sent on Philadelphia Athletics club stationary and feature perfect 9-10/10 looking Connie Mack black steel tip pen signatures. Dates of the letters are December 31 1941 June 8 1942 June 9 1942 and July 14 1942. Great collection of correspondence from a major league team's ownership to their minor league affiliate.

Also comes with an original Western Union telegram sent by Connie Mack to Harry Chozen. Three of the four letters have their original envelopes with Connie Mack's handwriting as well.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the daughter of the letter recipient Harry Chozen.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
