At the 1938 European Men’s Athletics Championships held on September 3-5, 1938 in Paris, France, Luz Long from Germany took third place in the Men’s Long Jump with a leap of 7.56 meters. He was awarded this third place winner’s medal for his efforts. He also received a participation medal/badge with a screw-in clasp and a lovely red and blue enamel design. The winner’s medal, made with a loop at the top, has Luz’s event and place engraved on the front. Here are the details.
