Graded NM-MT 8 by SGC. This card is one of only two examples that have been graded at this level by SGC, with none graded higher! What is presented here is a highly attractive, high-grade example of the key card from the 1935 Goudey "4-in-1" set, which features Babe Ruth on his last card issued during his playing career. The 1935 Goudey cards are notably difficult to locate in high grade. Their colored flush-to-the-border design renders them particularly vulnerable to edge and corner wear. The card being offered showcases four strong corners, vibrant colors, and exceptional registration. The reverse is clean. The 1935 Goudey card of Ruth is indeed a captivating piece. Although Ruth is associated with the Boston Braves, Goudey actually utilized and cropped the image of Ruth from the Yankee dugout pose found on card #181 of the 1933 Goudey series. The other three players depicted on the card are McManus, Brandt, and fellow Hall of Famer Rabbit Maranville. The puzzle section on the reverse reads "Picture 5 Card A." This is a remarkable example of one of Babe Ruth's most underrated yet significant cards: his final card from his playing days.
