This lot features a pair of autographs from two boxing heavyweights both of whom held the distinction of once being called the World Heavyweight Champion. In fact the first Max Baer lost the title to the second James Braddock in a memorable 15-round title bout fought in Long Island New York on June 13 1935. The first piece is a framed 8 x 10 black-and-white photo of Baer that he signed and inscribed: My Kindest Wishes Sincerely Max Baer 1935. The second piece to this lot comes via a cut signature of Braddock who was nicknamed the Cinderella Man leading up to his major upset of Baer. The cut signature by James Braddock signed sometime in the mid-50s includes the inscription Best Wishes and comes framed alongside a print passage chronicling his upset of Baer and subsequent defeat to Joe Louis via an eighth-round KO on June 22 1937. The framed item measures 14 wide by 7 high.
