A member of the world-champion '24 Nationals Pinky Hargrave departed Washington in 1925 and returned in 1930 on the heels of his best statistical seasona .330 batting campaign in 76 games for the '29 Detroit Tigers. Hargrave's H&B block letter bat hails from the 1930 labeling period. The 36" 35.6 oz. professional model bat exhibits heavy use with a handle crack and checking or grain swelling on the back barrel that has been repaired with nails. There are several ball marks and ball stitch impressions on the right left and back barrels. Cleat impressions can be seen on the right and front barrels. Factory side writing on the right barrel is illegible. Hargrave's 10-year career came to an end with the Boston Braves in 1933. Brother of fellow major leaguer Bubbles Hargrave Pinky died in 1942.
