Wonderful panoramic photo of the team that supplanted the Yankees atop the pile in the American League after nearly a decade of Bronx dominance. The 30-by-7-inch photo portrays 26 players and Mr. Mack and the bat-boy smack dab in the middle with printed title "Philadelphia Athletics American League Pennant Winners 1929" on the grass area beginning from the middle to the right side of the photo. As would be customary with these long narrow panoramic photographs there is some cracking at various points where it might have been rolled but the results are nicely muted by a first-class matting (light tan) and 1/2-inch black metal frame that bring the overall dimensions to 35-by-12 inches. All of the big names are pictured - Mack Foxx Grove Collins Miller Simmons Haas et al. and an enterprising fan wrote the last name of 20 of the 26 players in ink across their images. Truly a magnificent piece for fans of the great dynasty in the making.
