Outstanding original 14" by 19" black and white photo taken at the 1928 World Series featuring Babe Ruth Lou Gehrig Miller Huggins Grover Cleveland Alexander Bill McKechnie Rogers Hornsby Wilbert Robinson John McGraw Nick Altrock and Christy Walsh. 1928 saw the Yankees sweep the Cardinals 4-0 as Lou Gehrig slugged 4 home runs Babe Ruth hit 3 and both men drove in 9 RBI's. Crystal clear image of all 10 men standing in front of the grandstand. Hand painted black lettering has been added at the top to read "YANKEES vs. ST. LOUIS - WORLD SERIES 1928. The last names of each has also been hand written in black below their image. About a 2" crease at lower right corner going thru Hornsby name. Main issue is some wear resulting in picture loss that extends along the top border down the left side through Robinson's image and down the right side touching McGraw and Hornsby from the waist up with just a few spots on Ruth. All things considered still an incredible picture image! Awesome piece once hung in the office of famed baseball agent Christy Walsh and is still in it's original vintage 15 1/8" by 20" black frame from that period.
