This 1927 original photograph captures three Hall of Famers — Ty Cobb, Eddie Collins, and Zack Wheat — together as Philadelphia Athletics teammates during one of the most talent-laden seasons in early professional baseball history. The 1927 Athletics were a powerhouse in the making, and this photograph documents a fleeting moment in which three of the greatest players of the Dead Ball era shared a clubhouse.
