Offered here is a super rare full unused ticket to Game 7 of the 1926 World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees on October 10, 1926. In a game featuring four future Hall of Fame pitchers, the Cards' Jesse Haines defeated the Yanks' Waite Hoyt in a closely fought 3-2 contest at Yankee Stadium. Grover Cleveland Alexander, who had thrown a complete game to beat the Yankees the day before, saved the game for the Cardinals when he struck out Tony Lazzeri with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th. He closed it out with two additional scoreless innings. Herb Pennock pitched three scoreless innings of relief for New York.
The bright pink ticket has some wrinkle creasing on the left and right sides, rounded corners and lightly nicked edges. The front and back are clean with no print defects or paper loss and very strong colors, leaving us bewildered as to why this terrific example did not earn at least a low number grade. Maybe the more severe right corner crease is the main culprit, but it seems to be under-evaluated. Only four of these have ever been encapsulated by PSA; one of those is "Authentic" like this one and the other two are GD 2. We sold one of those GD 2's in 2015 for $8,098.
