One of the most thrilling Fall Classics ever witnessed, the 1924 edition proved to be a see-saw battle, the Giants and Senators alternating victories to bring on a decisive seventh game. The tense theme continued in this final encounter, stretching into the bottom of the twelfth inning when a bad hop from a ball off the bat of Earl McNeely skipped past Giants third baseman Freddy Lindstrom to allow Muddy Ruel to plate the walk-off run. The presented pin was almost certainly on hand to witness Walter Johnson and his Washington Senators claim what would prove to be its lone World Championship. It is among the most elusive of all pins from the decade, with only three examples surfacing at major auction in the past dozen years. Condition is marvelous, missing clasp is the only issue of note. A rare opportunity for the advanced press pin collector, and one not to be taken lightly.
