Cincinnati Reds Golden Jubilee 1896-1919 Official Souvenir Score Card from the highly controversial 1919 World Series between the Reds and Chicago White Sox. 8 members of the highly favored White Sox would be banned for life from baseball for purposely conspiring to lose the World Series for money. Articles in the program feature both the first professional team the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings and the 1882 American Association Champion Cincinnati Red Stockings. Individual player photos of all the 1919 Reds along with brief biographies of each. Program is loaded with other articles and interesting period ads. Pages 23 - 26 at the very center of the score card containing the Reds score sheet and a 2 page spread image of Joe Jackson and his 1919 White Sox team mates is missing. The White Sox score sheet in present and scored in pencil. Front 2 1/2" by 3" piece missing from the bottom left side plus more damage to the bottom. Back page has some staining and a 6" horizontal tear repaired with tape. Both covers detached from the spine. Inside pages mostly nice but the first and last page both have some staining and bottom wear. Tough program from one of the darkest chapters in baseball history.
