Hall of Famer George Sisler was beginning his career when legendary photographer Charles M. Conlon captured the Browns rookie in 1915. Sisler was a 3-time All-American pitcher for the University of Michigan before joining the St. Louis Browns. In 1915, the season Conlon snapped this image, Sisler split his time between pitching and playing the outfield. His excellence with the bat made him more valuable as an everyday player, and he gave up pitching for first base. Sisler would become one of baseball’s greatest hitters, batting over .400 twice and posting a career .340 average. The photo has been printed to its edges. There is a small piece missing along the top left edge, and some light surface scuffing is present. The reverse has two Brown Bros. credit stamps and several handwritten notations. The photo has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA and graded Type 1 Authentic.
