Fred Clarke won 1,602 games in his 21 seasons (1894-1915) while serving as player-manager in the Senior Circuit for the Louisville Colonels and Pittsburgh Pirates, winning four NL pennants and one World Series. His .312 lifetime average, 220 triples, 1622 runs, 509 steals and 2,678 career hits, along with a stellar managerial record (.580 win %), earned him a place in Cooperstown in 1945. This stunning 1915 Cracker Jack #70 card of the Hall of Famer received a grade of NM/MT 8 from SGC, making it one of just six such examples. Only two have been graded higher by SGC (same as PSA’s pop report). Three of the four corners appear superior to the given grade and both surfaces (front and back) are remarkably clean. Considering the delicate nature of CJ card stock, you will be hard-pressed to find any preserved this exceptionally.
