This photograph captures Ty Cobb’s burning intensity when coming to bat. The Georgia Peach stands with bat cocked, his body hanging over the plate in open defiance to any pitcher unlucky enough to face him. The photo dates to circa 1913 and, judging by the ballpark, appears to have been taken in spring training or an exhibition game. An amazing Type 1 photo from the sweet spot of Ty Cobb’s career. The photo has been printed to its edge and has a crease in the lower right corner, as well as very minor edge wear. The image is sharp with a warm sepia tone throughout. The reverse has a “APR 20, 1913” date stamp and various handwritten pencil notations. The photo has been encapsulated by PSA and graded a Type 1 Authentic.

Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method.
