Offered is a really attractive lower grade example of legendary Hall of Fame boxer Jack Johnson from the 1912 T227 tobacco series. Both Honest Long Cut and Miner's Extra issued these cards with their tobacco products in the early 20th century. This copy is graded SGC GOOD 2 and displays normal edge and corner wear typically found on this series. It's exceptionally rare to find high grade examples of cards from the series due to the lack of protection when packaged loosely with tobacco and general handling. This copy is low grade but displays exceptional registration and a bright and colorful artistic rendering of the legendary boxer. There are a total of twenty-two copies on the SGC pop report with only four graded higher than the offered example. The PSA pop does not distinguish between different tobacco backs but there are only thirty four copies graded by that firm.
