Here we have a pair of commemorative medallions engraved on the obverse "PRESENTED BY THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK COMMEMORATING THE HOME COMING OF THE VICTORIOUS AMERICAN TEAM FROM THE OLYMPIC GAMES OF STOCKHOLM 1912" next to U.S. flag shield laurel branch and another U.S. emblem. The reverse has American flag and pedestal eagle on ground and athlete in U.S. uniform under inscription "NEW YORK'S GREETING." Known precious medal maker Dieges & Clust engraved on bottom of each side. One medallion is NM-MT the other more EX condition. Unattached "MEMBER OF TEAM" pin seems to go with EX one. Unsure if this was originally a 2 or 3-piece medallion. Each Olympian in NYC area was issued one of these upon their return home.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
