Rare pair of actual team photo postcards from the 1912 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and New York Giants both postmarked on October 9 1912 from the South Postal Station in Boston at 9 PM the day of Game 2 in the Series. Both have one side pre-printed for filling in the score and the batteries. Boston would take the Series 4 games to 3 with one tie(Game 2). Oversize postcards measure 7 1/4" by 3 1/2".
Boston Red Sox Team photo postcard. Hall of Fame players pictured are Tris Speaker and Harry Hooper. Smokey Joe Wood who won 3 games in the Series is also shown. Crystal clear picture image with all faces sharp and player names listed at the bottom. Back has been addressed with the score of Game 1 (4-3) and the score of Game 2 (6-6) with the added notation "11 innings Dark". Postcard does have some creasing and heavy corner wear with one smaller tear to the left edge. All the players faces are easily seen with none of the damage touching them.
New York Giants Team photo postcard. Hall of Fame players pictured are Christy Mathewson John McGraw Rube Marquard and Wilbert Robinson. Crystal clear picture image with all faces sharp and player names listed at the bottom. Back has been addressed and mailed but no other writing. Postcard does have some creasing which is especially heavy at the sides. The face of Beals Becker is almost totally obscured by a crease.
