This 1911 M116 Sporting Life Honus Wagner "Blue Background" card grades PSA VG 3. The front pictures Wagner in a head-and-shoulders portrait with a blue sky background fading to green at the shoulders, captioned "Hans Wagner, Pitts. Nationals" beneath the image. The card shows even wear consistent with the VG grade, including softened corners and light surface toning, while the printed colors remain bright and the portrait retains good detail and registration throughout.

 

The reverse carries the Sporting Life advertising back, promoting the publication as the "recognized authority on all base ball matters" for twenty-seven years, available at five cents per copy from newsdealers. A clean, well-centered example of this scarce blue-background variation of the Hall of Fame shortstop's M116 issue, professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA.
