1903 Cleveland Automobile Club Sterling Silver Trophy won by auto racing pioneer Barney Oldfield. Large 13 1/2" tall cup with 3 animal horns tipped with silver serving as the handles. Engraved on front "TEN MILE OPEN Cleveland Automobile Club Sept. 4th & 5th 1903 WON BY Barney Oldfield Winton "Baby Bullet" Time 10:35 4/5". Bottom stamped "STERLING P25-1000 FINE 10 02 V". Trophy does have some tarnish but still displays well.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
