Competing on both Sept. 4 and 5 1903 automobile racing pioneer Barney Oldfield won the coveted Ten Mile Australian Pursuit Race and was awarded this silver trophy by the Cleveland Automobile Club in recognition of his winning time of 10:06. The sterling silver trophy which stands 19 tall and measures 11.5 across is beautifully designed with two ornate handles and includes the following engraving across the front: Ten Mile Australian Pursuit Race Cleveland Automotive Club Sept. 4th & 5th 1903 Won By Barney Oldfield Winton Baby Bullet Time 10:06. On the inside of the bottom of trophy it states STERLING 1824 6 1/2 PTS.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
