EX SGC 60 card of enormously popular 19th Century Hall of Famer King Kelly from the beautiful 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions tobacco series is loaded with eye appeal. Kelly was undoubtedly the most well liked player among the fans of his day and his sale from Chicago to Boston after the 1886 season for $10000 sent shock waves through the baseball world. Kelly played all 9 positions during his 16 year career. He finished with a .307 batting average and scored 1363 runs in 1463 games played. Card features dark rich color with a striking picture image. EX corners. Dead centered side to side and about 55/45 top to bottom. Relatively clean front with a slight nick at the right center edge. Back also relatively clean with a couple of small areas of light staining. Very attractive card of quite possibly the most popular player of the 19th Century.
