Nice looking SGC AUTHENTIC 1887 Old Judge Tobacco card of famed New York Giant Hall of Fame 1st baseman Roger Connor. Connor is pictured catching the baseball with his hands held waist high. The picture is a little light but the player image displays good detail. Over his 18 year career Connor had a .316 AVG. .397 OBP. and .486 SLG. He retired in 1897 with 138 career home runs a total that stood for 23 years until broken by the immortal Babe Ruth. Card has been trimmed along the bottom border. "DM 77" in pencil and "10" in light blue ink written on an otherwise mostly clean back. About a 3/8" by 1/2" area of paper loss on the back where the card was mounted in an album at one time.
