The Following Lot Originates from the Jake Virtue Estate Collection (click here for info.)
A striking cabinet portrait of a Detroit Wolverines player dating to the late 1880’s. The unidentified player wears his pinstriped jersey and cap with “DETROIT” arced across the chest. The cabinet was produced by Geo. W. Turton of Pensacola Florida whose advertising appears on both the front and back of the piece. The image is crystal clear and the cabinet displays medium wear and toning. The edges show slight chipping and staining from age. A very attractive cabinet portrait that comes from the estate collection of Jake Virtue. LOA from the Jake Virtue Estate.
