On December 29 2013 Peyton Manning threw a 63-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas with 5:37 left in the second quarter of a game vs. the Oakland Raiders to eclipse the New England Patriots single-season points record of 589 set in 2007. Denver entered the game needing 18 points to surpass the Patriots' mark. It was Manning's third TD pass of the game giving the Broncos a 24-0 lead. Matt Prater kicked a 34-yard field goal earlier in the second quarter to tie New England's record. With the play Manning also established the NFL single-season record for yards passing. Additionally the play netted Manning the record for touchdown passes in a single season.
Presented here is the jersey worn by Demaryius Thomas to make that dual-record setting catch on 12/29/13 and throughout the game that also saw the Broncos clinch the top seed in the AFC playoffs on their way to the Super Bowl. The unwashed jersey shows numerous grass stains and scattered soiling. This is a great piece of Denver Broncos history worn by one of the NFLs finest young receivers. Includes a COA from the Denver Broncos and Panini.
