Former #1 overall NBA draft pick Andrew Bogut came to the Golden State Warriors in 2012 via trade with the Milwaukee Bucks for popular guard Monte Ellis a move that disgusted many Bay Area fans at first. Yet Bogut proved to be a very important piece to the Warriors amazing turnaround from cellar dweller to 2014-15 NBA Champions providing frontcourt stability and allowing Steph Curry’s career to take off as the team’s sole point guard without Ellis. The 7-foot Aussie started at center and established himself as an elite shot-blocker and rebounder adept passer and key pick-and-roll cog. His statistics do not tell half the story of his value to the team. Case in point being the knee injury he sustained in Game 5 of the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cavaliers with the Warriors up 3-1. Bogut would not return to action again in the series. It was no coincidence that Cleveland against a much weaker front line without their top rim protector ran off three straight victories to win the title. Currently at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games Bogut is starring for his native Australia. He will suit up for the Dallas Mavericks next season.
Presented here is Andrew Bogut's Golden State Warriors game-worn "Christmas Day" jersey from the Dubs’ incredible 73-9 record-breaking season. He wore it December 25 2015 at home vs. the Cavs one of the most-watched regular season games in NBA history. Bogut contributed four points seven rebounds and four blocks in Golden State's 89-83 victory at Oracle. On the front left tail of the blue jersey is an "Adidas" size "3XL" manufacturer's tag reading "climacool" and a LENGTH +4” flag tag. Adjacent is the official NBA authentication code "GWA 03885." On the left inseam is a size "3XL4" materials tag with washing instructions and another Adidas tag that reads "09/15 A98743 AZB012." On the inside of the rear collar is a size "3XL4" tag positioned just below a sewn-in gold-colored tag with "4X" and a Larry O'Brien trophy appearing on it. Across the chest reads "Warriors" in white chain-stitching on white tackle twill as well as Bogut's uniform number "12" in similar fashion. Across the back reads "BOGUT" in white tackle twill sewn directly onto the blue mesh jersey. Above the player name is the official NBA logo patch. Jersey shows appropriate use for only being worn in the 2015 Christmas Day game.
