Last season Ben Roethlisberger turned in another stellar campaign throwing for 3819 yards and 29 touchdowns (in just 14 games) and leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to an 11-5 record atop the AFC North division. He took his team to the AFC Title game where they fell to the eventual Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots. In association with his agency Rep 1 Sports Big Ben is offering his game-worn and dual-signed Nike cleats from Pittsburgh’s 31-13 blowout home victory over the Jets on October 9 2016. Ben had one of his best games of the season as he completed 34 of 47 passes for 380 yards and 4 TD’s without an interception adding more fuel to his surefire Hall of Fame resume.
The size 14 Nike ‘Field General 3’ cleats display obvious game use with some Heinz Field dirt remnants still attached to the bottoms. Designed in Steelers colors with a yellow gold crisscross pattern on the mostly black exterior the cleats can be easily photo-matched to game photos. The Steelers wore their throwback "Bumblebee" uniforms that day. The Nike interior tagging reads “SEASON FA16” for the season of use and “PROMO SAMPLE” to indicate player-issued status. On the insoles is “JETS” penned in black most likely by the equipment manager. Each cleat has been autographed on the lower ankle by Big Ben in 8-9/10 silver marker with his uniform No. “7” inscribed.
Also included in this lot is Ben’s game-used Nike glove he typically wears on his non-throwing hand for better grip. The black and gray leather glove shows heavy use from the 10/9/16 game. It is signed and inscribed by Ben in the same format as the cleats. Getty 615592266 shows a nice photo-match of both the cleats and glove.
