With 24 Grand Slam singles titles and still going strong at age 37, Novak Djokovic has separated himself from Rafael Nadal (22 majors) and Roger Federer (20 majors) as the greatest tennis player of his generation, perhaps ever. The question is not if but when Novak will secure number 25 to stand alone among men and women – Margaret Court also has 24 – as the all-time leader in major championships.
Presented here is a pair of Djokovic’s 2020 French Open worn shoes conclusively photo-matched to his Quarterfinal victory over Pablo Carreño of Spain. The Serbian sensation was the top seed at Roland Garros in 2020 and ranked #1 in the world at the time. He knocked off Tsitsipas in the Semifinals before falling to his longtime nemesis, Rafael Nadal, in the final. In a COVID-shortened 2020 season, Djoker finished with a 41-5 singles record and held the world’s #1 ranking the entire year.
The ASICS Court FF player-exclusive shoes come in red with white accents with white ASICS logos on the sides and Novak’s player logos on the heels. Accurate manufacturer and player tagging is present on the interior. The outsoles are brown stained from the clay surface at Roland Garros. The uppers and midsoles display obvious wear with creasing, scuffs and clay deposits that Sports Investors Authentication used to make the match. Djokovic has autographed each shoe in black marker. Our consignor, who knows Novak personally, was gifted these shoes after the conclusion of the French Open and had Djoker sign them in person.
After 2016 French Open racquet, which sold for $107k in our 2023 Fall Auction, this is just the second Djokovic photo-matched item we have offered. Includes full authentication paperwork from Sports Investors. Both signatures sticker certified by PSA/DNA.
