On October 23 2011 the Pittsburgh Steelers visited the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium and came away with a 32-20 victory. In the 2nd quarter wide receiver Mike Wallace made history when he hauled in a 95-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to break the Steelers' record for longest touchdown reception ever. Out of his own end zone Big Ben launched a deep pass that hit Wallace on a sideline go-route at the 40-yard line and the speedster out of Ole Miss took it the remaining 60 yards to the house leaving a dust of Cardinals in his path. 2011 was arguably Wallace's finest season as he finished with 1193 receiving yards (his 2nd straight 100-yard season) and 8 TDs to earn his first Pro Bowl selection. Featured here is his attractive game-used and autographed Pittsburgh Steelers white road jersey from that special game.
The white mesh jersey has player No. 17 sewn on front and back in black tackle twill and "Wallace" in black and gold tackle twill on the back affixed to white nameplate. In the collar is an "11-42" printed strip tag (denoting year and size) also has small "2" written on. Wallace has signed the back in silver Sharpie with a "game worn 10-23-11 vs. Ariz" inscription. There is a strip of tape on the front numbers with "10-23-11 PIT-32 ARZ-20" marked in black by the Steelers' equipment manager - standard practice for dated Steelers gamers documented by JO Sports. The jersey shows awesome wear and the large grass stain (browned over time) on the back right shoulder is easily photo-matched (Getty 130151483) to a point later in the game likely the 2nd half.
