This lot offers an original unpublished oil-on-canvas painting of two of basketball's greatest legends: Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain. Painted by world-renown sports artist Dick Perez the 24" wide by 48" high masterpiece shows Los Angeles Lakers mainstay "Wilt the Stilt" Chamberlain going up for a basket while being defended by Boston Celtics icon Bill Russell. What's certainly unique about this representation is that the painting shows both hardwood gladiators sporting their respective home uniforms. This same painting sold at auction in 2005 for $1856.
