Beautiful 10K gold ring given to Willie Pep upon his 1990 induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Pep had 241 bouts over his long career finishing with 229 Wins 11 Losses and 1 Draw. He was known for his speed and finesse and was considered to be one of the best fighters of the 20th century. The Associated Press voted pep as the #1 featherweight of the 20th Century and the International Boxing Research Organization ranked him as the #1 featherweight of all-time. Real diamond with 10 points cradled in a pair of boxing gloves on top surrounded by "INTERNATIONAL BOXING HALL OF FAME". One side has "PEP" "INDUCTED '90" and the Hall of Fame's logo. The other features "CANASTOTA" above a relief image of 2 boxers in the ring with a championship belt below. Inside stamped "BALFOUR 10K" and "WILLIE PEP". Also included is the original 11 1/2" by 11 3/4" presentation folder with certificate given to Pep upon his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Ring size 8.
9/27/97 LOA from the auction house where the ring was originally sold stating that the ring was obtained directly from Pep's family.
