Produced for the 1895 Temple Cup Championship Series between Baltimore and Cleveland this extremely rare Baltimore Orioles "Score Book" was the personal copy of Willie Keeler the Hall of Fame left fielder and batting star for the eventual Champion Baltimore club. Keeler and his Baltimore teammates a potent line-up that included Hanlon Kelley Robinson Gleason Jennings Keeler McGraw and others are featured on the inside in full-page studio photos. The 14-page book produced by "Press of Guggenheimer Weil & Co." of Baltimore measures 5-3/8" by 6-3/4". Its centerfold scorecard is scored in pencil presenting a period account of Baltimores 5-0 victory. The scorebook is complete and tightly bound with minimal wear apparent on the interior pages. A vertical fold runs through the center otherwise only moderate general wear is apparent. Overall appearance is about EX. Objects related to the Temple Cup Series the immediate predecessor to our modern-day World Series are exceedingly scarce and desirable. Of the handful of similar programs of this kind that have survived and been offered for public sale it is doubtful that any could rival this example with consideration to its condition and extraordinary Hall of Fame player provenance. Includes a letter of provenance form the Keeler family.
