The 2012 season was the 17th for the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens won the AFC North division title and advanced to the AFC Championship for the second consecutive year. This time they would not be denied a trip to the Super Bowl, beating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots handily, 28-13, to set up a date with the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII at the Superdome in New Orleans. Billed the "Harbaugh Bowl" -- the first ever match-up between two brother head coaches, Jim's Niners and John's Ravens -- Baltimore prevailed in a high scoring, tightly contested game, 34-31, to win its second Super Bowl in franchise history.
Presented here is a Super Bowl XLVII player ring made of 10-karat white gold awarded to Ravens wide receiver Deonte Thompson, an undrafted rookie in 2012 with Baltimore who won a BCS National Championship with the Florida Gators in 2008. The dazzling piece of jewelry features 245 diamonds (3.75 carats), with purple amethyst, yellow gold and red enamel. The left shank includes “2012” in small diamonds, framing the Lombardi trophy, the Superdome, and the words “SUPER BOWL XLVII.” The right shank reads “THOMPSON” above the Ravens insignia, the team’s motto (“PLAY LIKE A RAVEN”), and two footballs. Engraved inside the band are the results of the team’s four playoff victories that season, as well as the Ravens logo and "JOSTENS©10K” hallmark.
The ring comes in size 11 and weighs 85.2 grams. It has light wear and remains in very nice condition overall. Included is the original black wooden presentation box with a recessed Ravens logo on the lid's top, along with a frosted-mirror design of the Ravens shield and "Deont'e A. Thompson" on the lid's underside.
