This is the 1983 National Baseball Hall of Fame 10K Gold ring presented to Walter Alston upon his induction into Baseball's most hallowed shrine. In 23 years as a major league manager Alston led Dodgers teams to seven National League pennants and retired with more than 2000 career wins and managed NL All-Star teams to seven victories. He was selected as Manager of the Year six times. One of the most respected and accomplished managers in baseball history Alston was inducted in the Hall of Fame Class of 1983 along with Juan Marichal Brooks Robinson and George Kell.
The ring presents a silver baseball on top of a black stone surrounded by "Baseball Hall of Fame". "Manager" "Elected 1983" with a crossed bats over an infield adorn one side while "Walter Alston" "The National Baseball Hall of Fame" and a relief rendering of the Hall appear on the other. The inside band is stamped "BALFOUR 10K". The size 11 ring comes with the original Balfour box and a signed LOA from the Alston Family.
