Presented here is a spectacular artifact commemorating the Los Angeles Dodgers' third World Series Championship in just their eighth season in LA and their fourth at their new stadium at Chavez Ravine. With Sandy Koufax winning his second of three Cy Young Awards in a season when he won the pitching "Triple Crown" with a 26-8 log 2.04 ERA and a then-record 382 strikeouts the Dodgers beat archrival San Francisco for the NL Pennant and then nudged past the Minnesota Twins in a thrilling seven-game World Series. That offers some hint of the import of this historic team-signed Dodgers baseball from the collection of the team's legendary manager Walt Alston. The ball claims 23 autographs on an Official National League Giles ball with signatures that have been carefully applied in blue ballpoint many uncommonly bold and vivid in strength and hardly a whisper of smudging of the autographs. The roster of signers includes: Alston on the sweet spot Drysdale Fairly Willie Davis Moon Crawford Osteen Podres Lefebvre Miller Phillips Kennedy Torborg Tracewski Kekich Le John and Reed. The autographs of Koufax and Roseboro have been assessed as clubhouse. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Walter Alston Collection.
