Offered here is a wonderful trio of jackets worn by legendary Dodgers manager Walter Alston, who directed the fortunes of the club for 23 seasons between 1954 and 1976, winning 2,040 games, seven NL pennants and four World Series crowns. All three pieces are from his personal collection, a lineup highlighted by striking fleece-lined satin Dodgers jacket. This 1960s-era jacket has a "MacMurray of California" tag at the back of the collar with "XL" handwritten in black marker and is an absolute stunner. The famed cursive "Dodgers" appears across the chest in white tackle twill, with blue and white knit elastic on the cuffs, waist and collar, and a white-trimmed zipper path. It was initially issued to and worn by Ron Perranoski, who pitched for L.A. 1961-67, as the letters of his long surname have been removed from the back. As was often the case in those days, the jacket remained with the team after Perranoski moved on to the Twins and was then worn by Alston.

Also included is a 1960s/70s-era blue satin snap-button jacket without a lining worn by Alston in warmer weather. Tagged by Rawlings on the interior (size 48), it has the interlocking “LA” logo on the left chest in white tackle twill along with blue and white knit elastic on the cuffs, waist and collar. Lastly, we have a 70s-era blue nylon snap-button windbreaker absent of any logos, with blue and white knit elastic on the cuffs, waist and collar. A white swatch tag in the collar has Alton’s number “24” written in black marker. All three jackets show heavy wear. Includes LOA from the Alston family.
