Before embarking on his Hall of Fame career in the big leagues Wade Boggs hit .322 in two seasons for the Pawtucket Red Sox including a league-leading mark of .335 in 1981. If not for his game-tying single in the 20th inning against Rochester on June 21 of that season Pawtucket could not boast of hosting and winning the longest game in professional baseball history. This Wade Boggs signature model P89 model Louisville Slugger is the earliest professional model Boggs gamer weve seen. Dating from hi 1980 season in Pawtucket it features his initials "WB" written on the knob in black marker. The handle appears uncracked and loaded with pine tar. Excellent usage is evident in the form of ball marks rack marks and grain seperation from contact. Boggs was inducted into the International League Hall of Fame and was honored for his acivements as a member of the PawSox at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket R.I. in 2012.
